Messages: SMS & MMS Text App

Messages is a clean and fast app for your SMS and MMS. Set it as your default messaging app and keep every conversation tidy, easy to find and easy to read.

WHY MESSAGES

• Tidy inbox
Your chats are grouped into All, Personal, Unknown and Transactions, so bank alerts and unknown senders do not hide messages from people you know. An unread counter on top shows what is waiting.

• Simple chatting
Send and receive text messages, photos, videos, audio clips and contacts. Start a group message, add emoji and reply right from the notification.

• Schedule messages
Write a message now and choose the date and time it should be sent. Good for birthdays, reminders and time zones.

• Block unwanted senders
Block a number in two taps and keep blocked conversations out of your inbox. Unblock at any time.

• Archive, pin and star
Pin important chats to the top, archive the ones you are finished with and star the messages you want to find again.

• Recycle bin
Deleted conversations go to the recycle bin first, so you can bring them back if you removed them by mistake.

• Backup and restore
Save your conversations to a backup file on your phone and restore them when you need to.

• Swipe actions
Choose what a left or right swipe does in the inbox: archive, delete, mark as read, call and more.

• Themes
Light mode, dark mode or follow the system, with seven colours to choose from.

• Search
Find a conversation or a message quickly by name, number or text.

• Notifications your way
Quick reply and mark as read from the notification, with settings for sound, vibration and preview.

• 14 languages
English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese and Chinese.

HOME SCREEN

Messages also works as your home screen. It gives you an app drawer with search, folders, several home pages, a dock for your favourite apps and your messages one swipe away. You can switch back to your old home screen at any time in your phone settings.

PERMISSIONS

Messages asks only for what its features need:
• SMS and MMS: to read, send and receive your messages as the default messaging app.
• Contacts: to show names and photos instead of numbers, and to pick a recipient.
• Phone: to detect your SIM cards for sending.
• Notifications: to tell you about new messages.
• Camera and microphone: only when you take a photo or record audio to send.

Your messages and contacts stay on your phone. The app does not upload them to our servers.

Messages is free and shows ads.
