Works very well (and the music is fabulous) but I have one request: it would be great if the music could keep playing when I switched to a different app or locked the phone. In other words, I want to use it like all my other music players: lock the screen, put the phone in my pocket, walk or drive around listening to great opera. PS: I notice a few reviewers worried about casting their screen to their tv. While this does work, I find it much better to use the Met's Roku app for that.

The App has been updated as of March 1, 2021, so I can now cast directly from my Android phones to either a Sony with Chromecast built in or to a Google TV device plugged into another set. I can also cast from the Met's website directly from my Windows 10 laptop using the Chrome Browser, though I prefer using a good set of headphones and watching on the laptop (HD display). The Met's content is among the best in the world, and now the app works as promised.

This is a wonderful catalog of operas from several decades. Current products are made available within months of live streams. The subscription represents excellent value. I have the app on my ipad, but generally, I cast to the TV

Well at least the sorting got fixed. But now search is broken. I guess there is an Elasticsearch index in the backend. The frontend lists the same results for la damnation de Faust, and Faust despite them being different operas. Searching also returns Faust too, but the app crashes as soon as I press play on the audio version. Are your aggregation queries broken? Please pay someone who can fix this.

Please update this app, so it works well on current Android devices. It does not let me log in 😡. I cannot install it on Android TV either. The only way to enjoy the content is to cast from desktop browser to Android TV / Chromecast.

I am a long-time MET subscriber (season tickets) & have subscribed to MET Opera on Demand for > 3 years using Roku. App fine THERE. I recently switch to Android TV (Tivo Stream 4k) for functionality not available on Roku. Unfortunately, Android version does not work. Understand that new version is due Feb 21. Hopefully it fixes Android TV and works more universally. Otherwise, it may force me to cancel subscription for MET Opera on Demand. Please don't make me do that.

The content is great, but the app does not seem to be being maintained (last update 2018), gives warnings when starting on Android 11, and will not let me log in any more (although I can on the web). There are currently nightly free streamed operas, which do stream, but the only way of casting to tv (at least without logging in) seems to be to cast the display, so you can't use the phone for anything else (a quality problem and also an issue if I'm setting it up for others in the family then wanting to get on with other things). Casting from Chrome on pc with optimization works but shows subtitles on the pc but not the tv. So not very satisfactory at all. The Met could get some more much-needed revenue if they could work with Google and fix all this.
