Comments on Metal Slug: Awakening for Android

★★★★★ Robert Williams · May 19, 2026

This game has always been one of my favorites. I do miss the Neo Geo! I do miss the 90s! Metal Slug is one of the very best shooters ever developed! I can't believe I'm playing this game on a phone. SNK, I didn't see that one coming! The fun factor has always been a 10! The graphics have always been a 10! The storyline has always been a 10! This game is no exception! Metal Slug Awakening is a perfect shooter! This game looks awesome, plays great! It is FUN!

★★★★★ Eduardo Sanchez · Jun 23, 2026

I thought it was going to be boring and nothing new or fun.but yeah I was wrong. Pretty good game and impressive that they improved the game. I would love if they can make it work with control (Xbox control or play control)

★★☆☆☆ John S · Aug 19, 2026

First, I think I'd prefer controller support for this game. There's too much movement and areas to take cover during boss fights that I don't really like the on-screen controls. Second, it's crazy to think that this has taken so long to load. The 3D rendering video doesn't feel like it should as abundant as there are, and it's not why I was drawn to Metal Slug anyway. Some of the extras to iconic and old fights are interesting but not enough to keep me. Maybe I'll check it out again later.

★★☆☆☆ Salvatore Haran · Apr 27, 2026

Really fun time until the game forces you to level boost from 22 to 190. I now have this super team that I didn't earn, and the story is busted. The story mode and other modes like Joint Operation think I've finished them, but I haven't. So I still need to go through the story to unlock other stuff but because I'm now so high level, none of the dialogue plays anymore. Utterly baffling decision I hope was a bug. Let players opt out of level boosting. Level boosting sucks!

★☆☆☆☆ Jacques Leblanc · Oct 4, 2026

I love Metal Slug games but this one came with an auto aim feature, I turned it off and I couldn't aim up or down like previous titles, I had to turn on the auto aim to aim up or down and that's only if an enemy is there, plus with the auto aim feature I could just stand safely in a corner and spam fire like I'm playing Devil May Cry 2... awful, uninstalled immediately...
