Just tested a new headset connected via bt on my phone. It's got its own boom mic. I press record, went into a different room than my phone, and recorded from my new headset only. This app works great, and I could gear what my new headset sounds like with it

Could be a little more clear (what does "Direct" mic mode vs "Communication" mic mode mean exactly? But it works to test both the top and bottom pics on my phone!

Very lean app that does precisely what has to do. You can test any mic, including Bluetooth earphones if you are testing their call quality, for example.

I wanted to test my microphone without calling anyone and this is the only app I found that actually picked the microphone from my Bluetooth earbuds instead of my phones' microphone my voice recorder app used my phones' microphone instead of my Bluetooth microphone

It works really nice except it tells me that my mic is connected whenever it is, but there isn't an option so that it'll pick the audio only from my external mic.it only takes audio directly from my phone even if my mic is connected and the app says it is connected. I went to the help section of the app, and I see that normally I'll have to choose the microphone option but when I go back to the option I don't see that as shown in the help section. If this problem gets resolved I'll give 5 stars

Misleading title. It has no tools to test one's microphone. It's like any of your other apps that can record a voice note except it can't do anything they can do like chat to friends, share a file, record a video or take a photo. Why would anyone use this to test their mic? They already know it's messed up if it's not working in their other apps and if it is working, they don't need to "test" it. It's really the worst all ever. And Google is lame for not allowing us to give it zero stars.
