Description by Sykerö Software(from Google Play)
You sit down at the keyboard. Something good comes out of your fingers. Five minutes later, you can't remember what it was.
MIDI Recorder is built so that doesn't happen anymore. Every improvisation, every spontaneous idea, captured to a standard MIDI file you can open in any DAW.
ALWAYS READY Leave your keyboard powered off. When you turn it on, the app reconnects automatically. Recording waits for your first note, so files have no empty lead-in. Auto-stop ends the take when you stop playing. You don't fight the app — you just play, and the take is there.
Or turn any of it off: every automation is optional, and the app adapts to your workflow rather than the other way around.
FEATURES • Smart start — recording waits for your first note • Auto-record with silence-based auto-stop • Auto-reconnects to your keyboard when it powers on • Saves to standard MIDI (.mid) — opens in any DAW, sequencer, or notation app • Works with Bluetooth MIDI (BLE) and USB MIDI devices • Start and stop recording with a pedal of your choice (sustain, sostenuto, or soft) • Built-in metronome with optional count-in • Plays recordings back through the same device • Live staff view — the notes you play appear on a musical staff in real time • Chord analysis — chord names appear as you play and during playback, in plain (maj7, m, dim) or jazz (Δ, −, °, ø) notation • Automatic key detection — recognizes the key of what you're playing • You choose the output folder; recordings live in your own storage • Mark your favorite takes • Home-screen widget — a mini view of the app on your launcher: see status and start or stop a take without opening the app
WHY I MADE THIS I'm a developer and a musician who improvises often. I got tired of losing good ideas to forgotten moments, so I built MIDI Recorder for myself. I use it every day and keep developing it.
That's also why every feature is free, and will stay free. An optional in-app purchase removes the ad banner, but no functionality is ever locked behind a paywall — not now, not later.
REQUIREMENTS • Android 12 or newer • A BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) MIDI device or a USB MIDI device (most modern digital keyboards)
