MilExact - Range Finder

Turn your smartphone into a precision optical rangefinder.

MilExact is a powerful, lightweight tool designed for marksmen, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts who need to estimate target distances quickly and accurately. By utilizing the geometric relationship between your camera’s zoom and known object dimensions, MilExact provides a digital alternative to traditional laser rangefinders.

HOW IT WORKS MilExact uses the principle of "Mil-Dot" ranging. By aligning your camera view to a target of a known height or width, the app calculates the distance based on your lens's focal length and zoom level. No laser signal required—making it stealthy and effective in all weather conditions.

KEY FEATURES:
• Diverse Target Presets: Quickly select from built-in reference figures including:
◦ Tactical/Urban: Average man (1.80m), Doors, and standard vehicles (Cars, SUVs, Trucks).
◦ Hunting: Specifically tuned profiles for Roe deer and Red deer.
• Custom Target Library: Create and save your own targets! Whether it’s a specific steel gong, a local wildlife species, or a known landmark, just input the height/width and MilExact handles the math.
• Intuitive Camera Interface: A clean, minimal overlay allows you to zoom and align your target within red markers for high-precision estimation.
• Dope Card Integration: (If applicable to your Room DB implementation) Store your findings and manage range cards for multiple targets in one place.
• Privacy Focused & Offline Ready: No internet connection required in the field. MilExact works wherever your adventure takes you.

PERFECT FOR:
• Long-Range Shooting: Calculate the "dope" needed for your scope without heavy equipment.
• Hunting: Estimate the range of game animals for a more ethical and precise shot.
• General Outdoors: Useful for hikers, sailors, and surveyors who need to estimate distances to landmarks or structures.

PRO TIPS FOR ACCURACY:
1. Use the Zoom function to fill as much of the frame as possible for a more precise reading.
2. Ensure you are using the correct figure height for your specific target.
3. Keep the phone steady or use a tripod/rest for the most accurate alignment.

Stop guessing the distance. Start measuring with MilExact.
