Mjølnir is a language learning app developed specifically for Norwegian, and with English as a starting point. It combines the quality content of a textbook, the interactivity of a smartphone app and the effectiveness of a spaced repetition memorisation tool.
It is designed with a focus on expatriates living in Norway and aims to cover the hundreds of notions of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary that take you to the B1 and then B2 level. This is the tipping point after which you can continue to learn the language simply by using it every day.
Our flashcards cover pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, while they feature audio recorded exclusively by native speakers covering different dialects from all over Norway.

These guys have taken language learning to a new level. This app is seriously the "all killer, no filler" way to learn. I could never stand Duolingo and it's games and lack of explanations. This is the total opposite and I love it.

If you are committed to learning Norwegian this is by far the best way to get started short of taking a class that costs thousands of dollars. The method of spaced repetition used by this app is research backed and proven to help you learn. You could use Anki flash cards, but then you would miss out on Mjölnir's excellent audio samples, explanations, and pacing. Put down the Duolingo and learn for real!

They are decent enough flashcards (that's all this app is, like anki or any other) but you just cut it off completely after a week unless I subscribe for a year at a price point you won't tell me. They told me it was much cheaper than classes, but can't give a dollar value? Regardless I wouldn't expect a flash card app to cost anywhere near an actual language class.

Amazing resource for grammar and listening, but it takes a one-size-fits-all, hyper-opinionated approach to spaced repetition. The inability to modify repetition rates, set review priorities, or set a limit on the review pile is frustrating. Everything Anki provides, this lacks. SUPERB content, but the system is detrimentally inflexible to the point of feeling anti-user. EDIT: Dismissive, patronizing dev response. Hard to recommend if fair critique is handled in this manner. DYOR on SRS.
