Then you open the door and see the crack in the wall, oozing glowing green slime.
Monster Shooter: Horde Escape is an arcade top-down shooter about a squad of orange-suited janitors sent into an infested building with a flashlight, a gun, and a checklist. Walk with one hand, aim with the other, and keep one eye on the mission countdown: clear one more wave, or run for that breaker switch right now?
SHOOTING ISN'T THE JOB
Killing everything is not enough. Every level rolls 2-4 random objectives: reboot the breaker (hold to charge, and if you get hit you start over), haul boards to barricade a door (you move 50% slower while carrying), escort a survivor back to the safe room, or hunt down a key. Hit 100% and a 30-second evacuation countdown kicks in with a heartbeat in your ears - sprint to the extraction circle and hold it for 2 seconds to clear the level.
TWIN-STICK SHOOTING THAT NEVER LETS UP
Movement and aim are fully separate. On desktop: WASD to move, mouse to steer your muzzle and the cone of your flashlight, hold to fire. On phone: a virtual stick on the left half moves you, the fire button auto-targets the nearest slime, and a big interact button pops up when you reach an objective. Roll to dodge with invincibility frames, watch your magazine (1.2s reload), and scavenge shotgun and shock ammo off the floor. Hits land with a 40ms freeze-frame, crits deal double damage and shake the screen, and kills chained within 3 seconds build a combo that drops better loot.
SEAL THE RIFTS
2-4 spawn rifts pulse in the walls of every level, pumping out waves. Board one up and it stops spitting monsters for 20 seconds - just enough time to finish that breaker. Or almost enough.
99 LEVELS, 5 INFESTED ZONES
Apartments, mall, hospital, school, and finally the source of the contamination. Difficulty tightens level by level: denser hordes, objectives climbing from 2 to 4, more rifts, more elite affixes. New enemies keep arriving - charging hounds, shield fungus, flying gnats, spore gunners, splitting bubbles, healing mold, cloaked crawlers, exploding pustules - and every third level throws a boss or an elite raid at you.
GET STRONGER MID-RUN
Kills drop ammo, 15-second buffs (+50% fire rate, shields, piercing rounds), and weapon mods that last the whole run: +damage, +magazine, +move speed, stacking up to 5. Each level scores 1-3 stars on time left, survivors rescued, and whether anyone went down - and stars are the currency you keep between runs.
DARK RUINS, GLOWING GREEN SLIME
A warm flashlight cone cuts through the gloom while every monster you drop bursts into a splash of green slime that stains the floor. Bloated ones leave a puddle that slows you for 4 seconds. The room-and-corridor maps are procedurally generated, so the same level never plays the same twice.
FREE, AND FAIR ABOUT IT
Everything you can buy speeds you up, never plays for you: the 5-stack mod cap does not rise with money, revives are hard-capped at 2 per run, and there is no permanent invincibility and no paid-only power. Every weapon and every stat has a free path with Cleaning Points.
Single player. Just you, a flashlight, and a building full of slime.
Grab the gun. Grab the mop. Get to work.
