Description
PLEASE NOTE: Every month or so I get a review from someone who one-stars because it doesn't show up in their application list, or they otherwise cannot figure out how this works. IT DOES NOT SHOW UP AS AN APPLICATION IN YOUR LIST. To use it, you need to SET IT AS YOUR WALLPAPER under desktop/live wallpapers. I'd like to ask that you don't leave one star reviews because you can't figure out how live wallpapers work--this is not an artifact of my application but just the way all LWPs work. Thank you.
This is an early version of a LWP I'm developing to attempt to reproduce some memorable/iconic scenes from SNES games.
The following scenes exist currently: - Zeromus clouds battle background (FF4) - Airship flight (FF6) - Time gate effect (Chrono Trigger) - Battle backgrounds (Earthbound) - this is still under development and only one scene is included for this build. - Credits background scene (Link to the Past)
Current known issues: - The time gate effect looks fine on my phone but not on my tablet. Currently not sure why.
Potential ideas/planned scenes for future builds: - Ending sequences from SD3 - Other Mode7 airship scenes (Secret of Mana, Tales of Phantasia, SD3, etc) - The walk to Narshe from the beginning of FF6 - The time warp effect from the intro to Tales of Phantasia - Something Super Metroidy would be nice but I have yet to come up with anything that would work as a wallpaper.
Feel free to submit your own ideas, feedback, and bug reports. Keep in mind this is still in development and everything may not work perfectly yet.
Note of course that these wallpapers, like any live wallpapers, take more processing power to display than a static wallpaper and will thus drain battery faster than normal while being displayed.

Eventually I plan to make this project open-source.

This is an amazing app! The wallpapers look amazing and I can't wait to see more! At first my Android was limited to the FF4 wallpaper. For those who are giving one star, here's what I did: Go to android settings and pick developer options. Then tap "running services." Scroll down until you see "Mop's SNES Live Wallpaper." Tap settings. An app selection will appear at the bottom, tap "live wallpapers." Pick Mop's wallpaper. From here you'll have full customization of the wallpapers.

If you could add the Giygas backgrounds on the Earthbound one I would be
happy! I love it though!

IF YOU OWN A SAMSUNG DEVICE: Install "Live Wallpaper Shortcut" by Ben Paul and "LWP Settings Shortcut" by Cypher Cove to access your live walls. AND DO NOT LEAVE BAD REVIEWS FOR HARDWORKING DEVELOPERS WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO BUY A PHONE THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE NATIVE ACCESS TO LIVE WALLS! Complain to Samsung rather than to app developers! Review: Very impressed with the quality of this lwp as well as the many options! Looks great and runs smoothly on Pie 18:9 phone. Thank you, Dev!

When you install the app on Galaxy S9, it doesn't show up...at all. Worthless. edit: 2 star because I still don't like the app even after getting it to work edit 2: back to 1 star because dev is confrontational

Hello, yes I read your description but once again you cannot use this app if you own a samsung the samsung does not allow any custom live wallpapers because inorder to add a wallpaper you must find the files of the live wallpapers on the samsung wallpaper launcher, it can allow custom photos, but unless you can find the live wallpaper files (which you find photos from the gallary instead) you cannot get these live wallpapers, I know you'l decline this but you can either make it onan app or album

Ok it has amazing wallpapers. That being said, I was very disappointed and
a bit annoyed that I didn't see any Mario wallpapers. Mario is the mascot
of Nintendo, and therefore, the SNES. However, this app has great
potential. Add some Mario wallpapers and I'm downloading this again.
