★★☆☆☆ was really optimistic, spent a rediculous amount of time trying to get this to work with linux, as it claims to be compatible. After an hour of java errors and package fulfilling all dependencies, I had to remove everything and start all over. Because the instructions dont tell you that the software is 32 bit java only. So if you have a 64 bit system like everyone does now days, make sure you install multiarch or just plain 32 bit java and save yourself a migraine. The instructions also fail to mention another vital piece of info. Because after I solved the java migrain, I wasted a bunch more time trying to solve the next problem. Another migrain later, and a dozen web pages of self righteous nerds answering questions with the response "did you google it?" I learned that this server requires x11 window system in operation. My OSMC Kodi/ Linux TV box/ on a PI 3b, does not utilize the x11 window system. FAIL and FAIL. After wasting so much time, not acceptable of total defeat, why not at least use it on my linux OS laptop. After installing, the wifi server fails to start!! Without bluetooth, the webpage says that I need to download the older server 1.3 for it to work. Except, there no download link anywhere provided for this 1.3, not even with google search! FAIL FAIL FAIL. Screw it! So, will it work with your linux tv box, NO, Will it work 64 bit Linux OS, NOT unles you install 32 bit binaries. Will it work without bluetooth, NO, unless you find this 1.3 server download hidden somewhere on the internet. Doubt it works if you do find it.
