Description
Optimize Your Tuning and Tone with Advanced Audio Analysis!
This is a next-generation tuner app that allows you to swap pitch detection algorithms on the fly. By choosing the right algorithm for your specific needs, you can effortlessly adapt to any environment—whether you’re dealing with ambient noise, complex instrument overtones, or varying frequency ranges.
To further elevate your sound design, the app allows you to toggle the main indicator between Waveform Display and Spectrum Display. It’s not just a tuner; it’s a powerful tool to help you craft your ideal tone.
NEW feature: Timbre Envelope Analysis Mode! Developing a rich, beautiful tone is just as important as mastering perfect pitch. With this new mode, you can visualize and analyze the unique characteristics of your sound. By comparing your data and envelope curves with a teacher's or an ideal reference sound, you gain an objective perspective on your playing—providing the perfect catalyst for tone improvement and musical growth.
● Selectable Algorithms & Features
- Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Detection time and resolution (frequency unit) are determined by your sample rate and sample count. Highly resilient to ambient background noise.
- Autocorrelation Method Offers even better noise resistance and significantly lower CPU usage compared to FFT. However, it requires a sustained, stable pitch to accurately calculate the frequency.
- Cepstrum Method Perfect for analyzing frequency components and capturing the unique timbre or resonance of an instrument. On the downside, it is computationally expensive (higher CPU load) and prone to occasional octave errors.
- YIN Algorithm Delivers high-precision fundamental frequency (F0) estimation with robust noise immunity. Disadvantages include a potential drop in accuracy within lower frequency ranges, and difficulty detecting accurate pitch for timbres with complex overtones. Setting the proper threshold is key.
- Zero-Crossing Method A lightweight, straightforward method that calculates frequency based on the time intervals between zero-crossings, enabling the fastest real-time response. On the other hand, it can struggle with rich overtones or high noise environments. Applying a low-pass filter appropriately can significantly mitigate inaccuracies for overtone-heavy instruments.
