We've narrowed down permissions as much as possible, only asking for those who are a must to enable discovery the the unique notifications we use. Here's a detailed explanation of why we ask for each permission:
- Retrieve running apps – used to enable use of the notifications tray while Music Sensor’s notification is displayed - Identity – Used to optimize music discovery for your own taste - Location – Used to enable the listening settings (at home, at work etc) - Photos/Media/Files – used to store and display album cover images - Camera/Microphone – We need access to microphone to listen and discover music - Wi-Fi connection information – We optimize bandwidth and data consumption based on your connection - Device ID & call information – Used to to not display music recognition while you’re in a call - Disable your screen lock, modify system settings, prevent device from sleeping, draw over other apps – Used to wake up the screen and display the unique notification we've built.

Awesome app and it works as advertised! I pulled up a recorded set on YouTube from an electronic music festival and played it to see how many songs it would recognize, and it works as advertised. This is a great app where if you go to a nightclub/concert/rave/music festival and you hear that song you've never heard before or never heard the name of and it will get you that info without having to grab your phone, waking it up, opening up a music recognizing app, and hope it gets the name of the song before the song ends, which has happened to me many times. One question I have for the devs, does it use all the music apps I use on my phone to get the info? Besides YouTube, I have Google Play Music All Access, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Yahoo, Amazon Music Prime and eMusic, so does it use those services to get the info? There are many times a song will come on and it may be a remix of an original song that will only be on a site like Soundcloud or Mixcloud for example.

? Why do I have to wait 24 hours for it to recognize my home!? Just let me enter my WiFi or something. Or do you want me to walk around now? :-D It does work for a lot of the music around me, but I think it would be great to have a full list of what it has found available in the app. And the battery usage is noticeable, but let's see what the next few days will be like. Update: Thanks for the answer! Yeah, that's great! Looking forward to it! Also, you are asking for a lot of permissions. And, sometime my phone just randomly wakes up and shows my home screen (and skips my lock screen). I would prefer the list feature to the lock screen stuff that seems to be broken here.

Not working at all It's been about a week now and the app does not work. I can select/turn off or on the driving, home, walking, work etc. So I know the app has finished its "learning" phase but still nothing. I listen to music all day long but yet no song is ever "recognized"
