Description by 4ryanwalia Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
MyRecon brings practical OSINT tools together for personal privacy checks and authorized security research. Whether you are reviewing an old handle, checking a suspicious link or learning about a domain, start with public information and see what needs a closer look.
USERNAME SEARCH
Search a handle across hundreds of platforms, including social networks, developer communities, forums, gaming sites and marketplaces. Review potential matches and open public profiles to verify them at the source.
Use username search to rediscover accounts you may have forgotten and review where your handle appears publicly. Inconclusive checks remain unverified. Matching usernames are leads, not proof that accounts belong to the same person.
EMAIL BREACH CHECK
Check whether an email address appears in supported published breach records. Review reported incidents, breach dates and exposed data types to understand which accounts may need attention.
Use the information to plan your next steps, such as replacing reused passwords and enabling two-factor authentication. Results depend on source availability and coverage; no match does not guarantee that an address has never been exposed.
PASSWORD EXPOSURE CHECK
Check whether a password appears in the Pwned Passwords database and review its strength. A password can look complex and still have appeared in a known leak.
MyRecon hashes the password on your phone and sends only the first five characters of the hash. The matching check happens locally, and your actual password is not sent to the lookup service.
DOMAIN, WHOIS AND DNS TOOLS
Explore domain registration information through RDAP, the modern successor to WHOIS. Inspect available registration details, nameservers and domain status to learn more about a website's public infrastructure.
Review DNS records, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC, to understand email authentication settings. Discover publicly recorded subdomains through Certificate Transparency data. Useful for checking domains you own and researching infrastructure with permission.
IP ADDRESS LOOKUP
Review approximate IP geolocation, network ownership and reverse DNS information. Explore the public network details behind an address without opening several separate tools.
IP location describes network infrastructure and may reflect a provider, VPN or proxy. It does not establish a person's precise location.
QR CODE AND LINK CHECKS
Scan a QR code or paste a URL to inspect its destination, redirects and potential warning signs before opening it. Look beyond a shortened link and review where it leads.
Use these checks as another step when deciding whether to trust a link. Warning signs help you investigate; they do not provide a guarantee that a website is safe.
BREACH FILES
Read explanations of published data breaches, what information was exposed and practical steps you can take afterward. Learn how different types of leaked data can affect your accounts and privacy.
BUILT FOR RESPONSIBLE USE
MyRecon is designed for reviewing your own digital footprint and conducting research with permission. It uses public sources and supported breach data. Findings are leads to verify, and unavailable sources can leave checks incomplete.
