Tasker

★★★★★ Tasker is the most powerful app on my phone. It allows you to automate literally anything, and I truly mean anything. I have a task that saves my parking spot, one that slowly increases my bulb brightness and plays music before my alarm goes off, and a bunch of small ones like dismissing texts that I've replied to. Heck I even have a task that can unlock my phone in the middle of the night and feed my buddy in Pokémon Go. This app is very well-made and super efficient with battery (<1% each day)

★★★★★ This is one of the first apps that I install on any new device. I can't believe I paid a few dollars for this a decade or more ago, and it still gets updated with new features regularly. Best value for money I've ever received!

★★★★★ JUN 2024: Just had another instance when my other automation app could not perform a task. Tasker was successful👍🏽 Previous:One of top five apps on my phone. Been using for years (2012) Awesome responsive developer who continues to innovate. The most useful features on my phone are enabled by my custom automation. Uses negligible battery and memory.

★★☆☆☆ Do not buy. Does not easily do what it is supposed to do. Tuto and advices online are unclear at best, wrong at worst. HORRIBLE user experience. A thousand pop up, compelx UI, need to arrow left to validate, small pop up for searching. This developer did not have a single course in UX Design. Just an engineer that focused on maximizing features. Really, really bad. Asking for a refund.

★★☆☆☆ There's no option in Tasker to interact with SMS messages as they are received on this device that I cannot root. This is the most important functionality Tasker could possibly have for me. I recognize that the application still has utility for some people but since my carrier won't let me block texts without blocking calls any longer, this software no longer does the things I paid to be about to do. Edit: the option the developer is referring to does not appear on my current device.

★★☆☆☆ Not as straight forward as other apps. The really annoying thing with it is how it keeps saying that battery saver mode won't work with this app. It just pops up every time I try to do something
