Nightlog is a focused planning and logging companion for landscape astrophotographers. Plan a shoot, dial in your settings with built-in calculators, and keep a private record of every session!

• Save dark-sky spots with notes, Bortle class, elevation, and access details that stick around across visits
• See every saved location on a dark-styled map
• One-tap directions via Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze

CALCULATE
• Field of view for any sensor and focal length
• Star-trail length
• Milky Way exposure recommender (aperture, shutter, ISO) tuned to a target sky brightness
• Tracker check: verify your shutter/ISO/aperture against the Milky Way target

LOG
• Attach planning screenshots and result captures to each shoot
• EXIF, gear, and calculator snapshots saved alongside your images
• Mark your keepers

GEAR-AWARE
• Add your cameras and lenses once; calculators default to your sensor size and pixel width
• Variable-aperture zooms handled correctly

Built for the field: a dark, dark-adaptation-friendly interface so you can use it at night without ruining your night vision.

Recent changes:
• New: a guided tour on first launch, plus an in-depth guide for every tab — tap ? in any header, or open Profile → Guide & tour.
• Fixed: outside the Americas, a shoot's date could show a day early in trips and move a day earlier each time you edited it. Dates now match everywhere. Saved dates are unchanged. If one drifted, just set it again.
• Improved: the tour and empty screens stay readable at the largest accessibility text sizes.
