Using a standard deck of cards with the jacks (J), queens (Q), and kings (K) representing 11, 12, and 13 respectively, remove two jokers. Flip four cards at a time and use each card only once to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations to obtain a result of 24. For example, if you draw cards with values of 3, 8, 8, and 9, the would be (9 - 8) (8 × 3) = 24. The game supports fractional calculations as well.
Game: The popularization of the 24-point poker speed calculation game is attributed to Mr. Sun Shijie from the Chinese community. He conceived the idea in1986 and officially introduced it in the United States in 1988 where it quickly gained popularity nationwide. However, as early as January 1979, Mr. Zhijia and Mr. Xu Fangqu compiled an article titled "Who Can Calculate Faster" in "Interesting Mathematics," published by Children's Publishing House. This article discussed similar games involving calculations for reaching a total of twenty-four points.
