This new standalone app vs the integrated version is pretty decent and works very well. I do like the app now shows what's playing directly from the homepage like the original version did. One piece of negative feedback: the favorites section does not list the songs in chronological order, so it's hard to find what you recently favorite.

I love the fact that there's something listening at all times for every single song I come across throughout the entire day. It can easily identify songs by playing a few seconds of something by giving you the artist & song name. I think it's a new update, but I was recently able to attach my Spotify account right to it, so I can go from one to the other with a simple tap.

I can't even use the app since the switch to this new version of it, since it never gets past the "setting up Now Playing..." screen. Guess I'm just using Shazam instead, yet another actually interesting feature Google has shot in the foot

The songs don't actually go to the history or favorites for me like it did before. Like it'll register a song is playing, and it'll show on my lock screen but the app doesn't actually work for me edit : app not accessible for pixel 10a

The whole point, in my opinion, for having a pixel phone, was to avoid the bloatware. Google/Alphabet is getting worse and worse about forcing things down our throats. First, you take away Google music along with all of our purchases costing some of us hundreds of dollars, trying to force us to use broken *** YouTube Music. Now this garbage. Stop. Consent is necessary!
