For those who insist Interactive Fiction is CYOA, research will show that traditional CYOA like Lone Wolves and Duel Masters are all designed in the fashion of pre-made characters, hence Nuclear Power Toaster is following the true spirit of CYOA . As a choice Interactive Fiction, even with pre-made characters, Nuclear Power Toaster still give us enough choices on how we proceed with the journey of these characters, and how we build up the personality of them.. Over all the story is well written and intriguing with multiple lovable interactive characters who I actually care, including the villains .. There are multiple endings that will give a satisfactory closure but also leave a possibility for a sequel.. I hope there will be sequel since I am looking forward to rekindle relationship with potential Romance interest in the story :😉

This game absolutely defeats the purpose of a choose your own adventure game. If I wanted to read a story with a premade main character, I would just read a book. I play games like this so I can choose to play as whomever I want and create the story as I go. Absolutely not worth playing as there are plenty of other hosted games that actually have choices.

Okay. This game is mmm not great. In terms of CYOA games this falls more into story rather than game. Which it is important to note thag CYOAs and Novels are different and how you go about writing either is important. Like it was said, the characters you play as are premade and pretty much come with their own personality. The comedy in here is poorly timed and often juvenile, like the author wrote what he believed children would find funny. And perhaps some would work with children but as a great majority of readers are teens to adults, it made me feel embarrassed to read. Off the bat the story feels like it has no stakes or risks in it. A kind of empty world and concept that could be interesting if it weren't for the forced comedy and maybe given a better plot. It is a foolish idea to bring the reader information about a massacre and then proceed to tell us that the same massacre was remade to add fart sounds and is the second most viewed video of their time. If your own characters don't take this seriously, how can tou expect us readers to take it seriously? There was never a moment in this story where I felt as if my choices mattered or that there was any suspense to be felt. I feel like this story was a good hearted attempt but it ultimately fails because of the medium given to it. As a novel, this very well could have worked fine, but as a CYOA game it falls flat.

I would give this a chance and maybe even like it if it wasn't for the fact that you can only choose to play as an already planned male and female - only characters. You can't even change the names. So I'm guessing there might not be ro's either, but I don't know cause I didn't play the whole thing. The whole point of these games is CHOICES, you choose who you wanna be and who you wanna pursue, and what kind of character you wanna become.
