Awesome app that is a fantastic resource for all in Aotearoa, from beginners to experts, I can't recommend it highly enough. A fun language to learn. Can look up signs by the english word or by hand shape and body position, which is super helpful! The videos of the signs make it incredibly easy to engage with and learn the non-manual signals (grammar) as well, which is shown on the face. Huge fan of the Sign of the Day on the home page to slowly but steadily improve sign vocab capabilities.

Great app, use it all the time to learn some NZSL vocab. The favorites function is good, so you can save commonly used words. It would be good to have the ability to share a word (to different messaging apps e.g.) and to have the ability to create different lists of favorite words.

I love this app as I can learn both sign language and Te reo Maori. And also the video clip for every word.

I'm really surprised at how lame this app is compared to apps for other non-NZ sign language. The pictures are ok but the videos are way too short... the sign should be repeated 2-3 times and done slow and clear! A quick 2 sec sign is so inadequate. And it needs more info to explain different signs for the same word, ie "flower" is there twice with 2 different signs. "Dirty" has 3 different signs. Without explanation (e.g. is it a noun or verb etc.) it's pretty useless.

I used this app every day up until recently when videos stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but no luck. My phone is pretty new, so I don't think it's my phone at fault. Seeing the reviews shows I'm not the only one having this issue. Will definitely bump my rating up when this is fixed but at the moment the pictures by themselves are not overly useful.
