OCR2020Lite: OCR

This is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software based on a proprietary OCR engine. This application works locally on your device. It does not send your documents to a server. So it can work without a network connection and also you don't have to worry about your privacy.

This application can recognize English or Chinese text in images captured by your device's camera or from image files on your device. For image files, It can read all major image formats such as png, gif, jpeg, tiff, bmp and PDF.

This lite version can save recognized result as text PDF files or searchable image PDF files (which appear to be images but have hidden text so that you can search the text). The full version can also save the result to text, doc files or to clipboard.

Beside the recognition result, it can also save the original image or the image binarized (i.e., converted to black and white) by this application to all major image formats, so this application can also be used as the image conversion tool.

The software has intuitive image editing functions such as cropping, rotating, erasing unwanted black pixels of the binarized image. All the editing can be undone and redone.

When the cursor is moved to a position, the candidate recognition results are listed for selection, modify the recognition result usually just need one click.

The software has a simple way to edit the reading order, reading order is important when saving the result to text file, doc file, clipboard.

This OCR application edits the recognition result over the input image. It preserves the text's corresponding image position. This is especially useful when output PDF with hidden text, the hidden text is always positioned at the correct position.
