Old Light: Night Sky Star Map

Old Light is a night sky star map and stargazing guide that never compromises on the astronomy. Hold your phone up to the sky and stars, planets, and constellations appear exactly where they are — and you see how many years ago the light you're looking at set out.

■ How old is the light
Pick any star and Old Light tells you when its light left — whether you're seeing the star as it was 8 years ago or 2,000. Tonight's sky is a view into the past.

■ Precision you can trust
Sun, Moon, and planet positions are computed to arcsecond accuracy using professional models (VSOP87 planetary theory, Meeus algorithms), corrected for your exact location with atmospheric refraction and parallax. Labels land right on the real objects.

■ Fully offline star map
9,000+ stars, all 88 constellations, and 110 Messier deep-sky objects are built in. It works flawlessly in airplane mode, at a campsite, or deep in the mountains with no signal.

■ AR constellations over the real sky
Turn on the camera and the stars and constellations overlay the actual night sky in front of you. Or use sensor pointing to see the sky in the direction you're holding your phone.

■ What's up tonight — planets and the Moon
The Tonight list shows the planets, Moon, and bright stars up right now with their direction and altitude. Search for any object and follow the arrow to find it.

■ Famous objects in photos
Admire Saturn, Jupiter, the Andromeda Galaxy and more in real NASA imagery — and the Moon rendered in tonight's exact phase.

■ And more
· Precise coordinates (RA/Dec, Az/Alt) with rise, transit, and set times
· Time travel to any night, past or future
· Red night mode to protect your dark adaptation outdoors
· Constellation names and stories

Learning the constellations, getting started in astronomy, or stargazing on a camping trip — one sky map is all you need.
