Comments on Once Upon A Galaxy for Android

★★★★☆ Storm Aikin · Jul 29, 2026

The game is fun to play with interesting cards and strategies that get used based on the captain you choose. As far as I can tell you can't always choose the same captain, so you have to wait for them to show up again in a random pool of 3, but otherwise it's alright. I will say while I am playing for free if you spend money it would get decks/cards earned quicker and that can be frustrating at times if you aren't able to win with just the starter decks of each captain.

Okay, after 400 hours, I can write this. This game is an RNG machine. The developers are constantly adjusting the algorithm and tweaking cards here and there. Your luck adjusts based on which cards you choose in a game, which captain you picked, and how well you're playing. Not only that, but subsequent games played and how well you did affect the luck you have in your next games. It's been terribly interesting trying to figure how it changes with every update. Afaik, no community exists for it

Game is fun but i don't like how impossibly hard it is to unlock new captains for free

★☆☆☆☆ Big ERN Macrackin · Aug 1, 2026

The cards you face a few rounds in are impossible to get so early... gold cards with 100+ health and attack versus your single digit cards is mind-boggling. Gave it a chance and regret the time I wasted. Delete!!!

Decided to give this another chance only to see that they've now added pay-to-win character rerolls. Extremely disappointing for what used to be a fair game. Instead of addressing character balance in any meaningful way, they've decided to leverage the unbalance and sell you the solution (more rerolls, so you can get the good ones more often). Those who pay up get more chances to get high-tier characters, and those who don't pay up have to deal with losing to high-tier characters more often.

★★☆☆☆ Robin Hughes · Aug 1, 2026

Addictive and frustrating. There is some poor wording with incomplete explanations. Getting a choice of the random captains when there are so many is poor design. Pay for rerolls is not a nice pay 2 win mechanic. From what I gather things are overpriced and not very relevant and helpful. They need to sort their sustainability properly instead of going pay to win. Their monetization strategy is addictive frustration.
