OONI Probe is a fantastic tool! It's a free and open-source software that allows you to test the blocking of websites and detect censorship in your network. OONI Probe is designed to help you identify whether certain websites or online services are being blocked or throttled by your internet service provider (ISP) or government. By running OONI Probe, you can get a better understanding of your internet freedom and identify any potential censorship or restrictions in your area.

★★★★★ David Zanfir · Jun 15, 2023

Really cool project! If you can, you should definitely contribute to the open database and run a test from your network!

★★☆☆☆ Pradipa P. Rasidi · Jul 29, 2024

Since the last update (May 2024), no longer works in Android 7. Always crashes when running tests, any kind of tests.

★★☆☆☆ Bluezebra2 · Jul 24, 2023

For an app run by the Onion network, im surprised and disappointed that the app had trackers. And I am especially disappointed that one of the tracker is Facebook (meta). I mean all the stats from the probe are (unless opted out) automatically sent to you. So what's up with trackers?!

Don't install, this app tracks your mobile data and network then publishes on the Internet like government and publicly.

★☆☆☆☆ Heavychronicsmoker (Bombsquad0420) · Sep 8, 2025

I don't know where these developers think that it's okay to take over my phone for an hour and thirty minutes The amount of time it takes for these scans to run when it only took fifteen minutes before is insane and unacceptable I didn't sign up for a virus scanner If anybody uses this app, I recommend you disable it until you go to sleep it's a battery waster and data waster; They have a piss, poor development team; if this is the kind of service, they deliver.

★☆☆☆☆ Taro Suzuki · Mar 10, 2026

It doesn't work in countries with severe censorship, making it pointless to use. Add proxy support to your servers, so you can update lists and submit results.
