★★★★★ OONI Probe is a fantastic tool! It's a free and open-source software that allows you to test the blocking of websites and detect censorship in your network. OONI Probe is designed to help you identify whether certain websites or online services are being blocked or throttled by your internet service provider (ISP) or government. By running OONI Probe, you can get a better understanding of your internet freedom and identify any potential censorship or restrictions in your area.
★★☆☆☆ Since the last update (May 2024), no longer works in Android 7. Always crashes when running tests, any kind of tests.
★★☆☆☆ For an app run by the Onion network, im surprised and disappointed that the app had trackers. And I am especially disappointed that one of the tracker is Facebook (meta). I mean all the stats from the probe are (unless opted out) automatically sent to you. So what's up with trackers?!
★★☆☆☆ This app popped up running on boot, challenging my memory of having installed it. So I went looking. I found at least one menu defined setting that was part of an agreement being violated: it was set to NOT run if PC was charging ... and I was. So I deleted it, no matter how good it sounds. TRUST is a big subject, and you really can't be taking chances.
