Open Camera Remote and WiFi Remote Capture are just brilliant. I wanted to capture multiple synchronized streams from different viewpoints and these apps perfectly allowed me to do that. It takes a while to fully grasp the concept - I am bad at reading / following manuals and instructions - but once it all starts making sense, things get pretty reliable. What I learned to be very important: - make sure all phones (recording phones with Open Camera Remote and controlling phone with WiFi Remote Capture) are connected to the same WiFi router. - start the Wifi Remote Capture application first, only after that start the Open Camera Remote apps on the recording phone(s) The app is not a full featured commercial remote camera control application. You're bound to get very disappointed if that is what you expect from it. As far as I see it, it is a simple hack somebody added to Open Camera Remote to be able to have synchronized capture which is generously provided for free (and without ads) for others to use. For me, it saved me a significant amount of time that I otherwise would have had to invest in creating something similar!

All Open Camera + Remote... but why I can't save to sdcard? -- I've tried using Storage Access Framework before but sometimes I can't save to sdcard.. after some trial I've found that if I delete the last picture on saved folder at sdcard, it also delete the folder so when I try to take another picture it failed to save because the folder doesn't exist anymore.

It is called "Open Camera Remote" but you cannot remotely view and control another camera with it. If you read someone else's critical review of this app you will see a link from the developer telling you to read a Blog whose instructions should have been linked directly from the overview description of this app but they are not. It doesn't matter since those instructions make absolutely no sense and I am a professional computer technician that can also diagnose and fix my own car.

Dang, I really wanted to like this app. Although it uses an older version of Open Camera, it still has some of the nicer attributes of that very good camera app. The main problem is that no matter what I try, I can't get my 2 Samsung Galaxy Android camera phones to see each other. On each camera, the individual Open Camera Remote software works just fine, but they just don't see each other. I've put my phones in airplane mode with only WiFi on; phones are to the same WiFi network; I've tried 2 different routers (one connected to the internet, one not); turned equipment on and off, etc. Nothing works. Even worse, nothing in any documentation explains how to "connect" the apps on one phone to another. I mean, isn't that how this is supposed to work? Use Open Camera Remote on one phone to connect, control and view Open Camera Remote on the other phone, right? Nothing explains how to do that. Shouldn't there be a Big Red Button that says "pair with other camera" or something like that? I've read the blog but there is a LOT missing from it regarding this. Brilliant concept but just doesn't work. Bummer.
