The speed test runs on common internet CDN servers. The internet speed result is calculated with the middle range of samples.

The map shows signal strength down to street level using speed test and signal data from local users. Cell tower compass The cell tower compass allows you to see which direction the closest or strongest signal is coming from, enabling you to more accurately use broadband and signal boosting technology. I was able to point my yagi antenna at the nearest 4G LTE Verizon tower using this app. It showed on map where the tower was located relative to my house. The yagi antenna is connected to a cell phone signal booster in my house. I ran and re-ran speed tests with the app while in my office, and ran up to the roof to fine-tune the antenna's bearing between tests. Successful installation! Would recommend the app.

Firewall it. (I know. you'll need an app that can firewall @ pinpoint like an ip address or a domain. Something like what I use. Rethink (the android app)

I allowed it on my phone with gps on for almost 4 weeks. It is not accurate. I've lost signal, had terrible service on AT&T YET, this app doesn't document my bad reception as red or less than the orange ish color. When I'm waiting and waiting to send av text and try to get streams, it doesn't document the bad areas. I'm installing.

I'm using T-Mobile 5G service. Not sure what the Follow the Arrow is supposed to do. Does it point to the strongest signal? It points one direction, but the map shows I'm connected to a tower about 30 to 40 degrees in another direction.

The most recent update doesn't allow the tool to test my internet speed unless it collects my location data. There is no need to require location data to test download and upload speed. This tool is now focused on stealing data it doesn't need. I will be uninstalling it after using it for years.
