This game is beautifully designed, and very challenging to beat. It is possible though - after many failed attempts, I completed the blue mission for the first time today. Looking forward to using my new starting ship to complete the rest of the missions

Out There: Ω Edition is a unique space survival game with a mysterious atmosphere and thoughtful resource management. Every journey feels different, and the story encourages exploration and discovery. It can be challenging and slow at times, but if you enjoy strategy and sci-fi adventures, it's a memorable experience that's worth playing.

Fun game, but check options and enable "cemetery gates" so you can find your old ships and loot them. I do want to also have more ships, or the ability to rig 2 ships to fly together, and the "game balance" part where you can't refill your reserves while you mine a resource is pretty silly (why do I have to dump hydrogen from my probe to close the menu to refill my fuel tanks?). I also think alien language words known should be embedded in your old ships so the alien interaction is enhanced.

It really could have been a neat game with a lot to do and places to explore. The small inventory is a terrible design, totally kills the game. The fact that you have to drop cargo to grab fuel is dumb. There's no reason to make the game like this. It would have been super fun collecting stuff and looking for new ships or technology. How hard is it to imagine being able to upgrade your inventory? I'm just glad I have the play pass, I would have been very disappointed otherwise.

Cons: - Too RNG based, no strategy involved at all - No meta currency, no progression system for improving runs - No agency, player choices feel impactful - No altering starting load out, ships always start with the same build - Technology must be found every run, no permanent tech unlocks - Multiple chances to be hard locked and instant lose run - Can only get fuel from gas planets unless you have right tech, too easy to never find gas giants Pros: - Space - Music

I always hoped this game would get a sequel or update. And returning some stuff definitely has been done. But its lost its feel. Its slight lack of touch and polish that gave it its charm. I beat this whole game at one point. Now there is goals and everything but events seem worse. No matter what if I drill 10 my drill breaks every time. Before it was a die roll. Now... 100% failure. 5 systems deep this time I just realized I liked the old versions more and got bored. Uninstalling now. Sucks
