I've used the web app almost since the beginning (5 years) and it's the best app hands down for a) stirring pdfs, b) highlighting, and c) citing references within both Google Docs AND Microsoft Word. Also importing from Google Scholar (both PDF and ref) is super easy. Plus the folks there are really nice and respond almost immediately to questions. My only big feature request would be to have true note-taking that is separate (and had its own window) from highlighting.

Overall a very good paper manager (migrated from Mandela). Highlights and pen marks made in android sometimes get lost, if opening the same file on the PC. Using a samsung tab s7.

I have been recommending Paper pile non-stop to all my colleagues and students. It is by far the best PDF management system I have used. I download the app on my tablet and am so happy reading all my papers so easily. Seamless from computer to laptop to phone.

The app takes a very long time to load. When it does load, the main functions I was hoping to use do not work - I am unable to view PDFs or download them onto my phone. So the app has no use at all.

Not intuitive, the lack of a sort capability is such a gob smacking oversight that makes the app almost unusable. If I have 100 papers in a folder that is not sorted by title or author, finding the right paper is a needless chore. Read cube or Mandela are more functional.

I started the free trial hoping to use this for my lab. Set up my library on the browser/laptop. Then tried to use the apps. But the apps for Android and iOS don't seem to work for downloading papers. I've tried on my phone (Google Pixel) and on my husband iPad. Same issue. I set up the proxy for my institution but when I click "download" on papers it asks if I want to sync, I say yes, but then nothing happens and the PDFs never download. Going to find another solution and sad I wasted the time
