Description by Paradox App SpA Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Paradox blocks the apps and sites that pull you in, and a guardian stands in the way every time you reach for one. Less doomscrolling, fewer hours gone, and the time you win back is yours.
GUARD THE APPS AND SITES THAT PULL YOU IN
Pick the apps and websites you would rather not open, and the hours they are off limits. The wall goes up and comes down on schedule, even while Paradox is closed. Websites are blocked in the browsers you already use.
A PAUSE BEFORE YOU GIVE IN
Open a guarded app and the Paradox shield is there first. If you really do need in, tap Open anyway: your guardian stands in the way, you wait out a short countdown, and you choose 2, 5 or 15 minutes. The pass closes itself when the time is up.
FOCUS SESSIONS
Deep work for 60 minutes, a mini focus of 15, or an open stopwatch. Lay the phone on your desk and your guardian keeps the clock, with your blocks held for the whole session.
SEE THE SCROLL AS IT HAPPENS
Optional counters float over your apps: how long you have been in one today, and how many short videos you have swiped through. Both are off until you turn them on.
SOMETHING WORTH YOUR ATTENTION
Grow is a library of short lessons to read or listen to, meant to leave you a little better than they found you. On the pause screen, one tap trades the pass for a read.
YOUR NUMBERS, HONESTLY
Where today, this week and this month actually went, app by app. Put a daily limit on your apps and watch today fill up. A home screen widget keeps your guardian and today's time in sight.
GUARDIANS YOU EARN
Every day you keep a block on counts as an active day. Active days raise your level, and each level lets you pick a new guardian or a new attack on the guardian tree. Choose the background your guardian stands in front of. Earning needs an account, so nothing you earn gets lost.
NO ADS, NO ACCOUNT NEEDED TO START
Blocking, schedules, focus sessions, statistics and the library all work signed out, and there are no ads. Sign in with Google to earn guardians and keep your history on a new phone.
HOW PARADOX USES ACCESSIBILITY
Android has no Screen Time, so Paradox uses the Accessibility API for one job: to notice when you open an app or website you chose to block, and put the shield in front of it. It reads which app is on screen and the address in your browser's address bar, and only if you turn on the video counter, whether a Shorts or Reels feed is showing. It does not read what you type, your messages or anything else on screen, and none of it is stored or sent to us. Paradox also asks for Usage access to show your stats. You grant both on your device and can turn them off in Settings at any time.
Paradox is made by two brothers. Write to us and one of us will answer.
