Every time i tried to use phone mode it automatically went to vr mode and the game kept crashing

bought a merge cube for .99 just to give it a try and see if I'd like it. First, it's really annoying having to drop out of an app to my email just to sign in to an app to play. Second, the game i tried is not intuitive and i spent 5 minutes just rotating the cube with no idea how to actually complete the objective.

It barely works, and other players have to have their own device. And cube. I think... It was difficult to even see the cube without extremely bright light, and rotating it made everything black out until the camera found it again.
