Password managers are great if you want a vault, autofill, and a subscription. But sometimes you just need a password right now, for one account, and you do not want to sign up for anything to get it. That is what PassGenie is for.
ONE TAP, ONE STRONG PASSWORD
Open the app and a password is already waiting. Tap Regenerate, or swipe across the card, for another. Copy it and get on with what you were doing.
THREE WAYS TO GENERATE
- Random: letters, digits, and optional uppercase and symbols, 8 to 64 characters, with a switch that drops look-alike characters like 0 O 1 l I
- Hex: hexadecimal strings for dev keys, API tokens, and seeds
- Words: memorable passphrases from the EFF Diceware large wordlist, the 7776-word list designed for exactly this. Choose 3 to 10 words, the separator, and whether to capitalize
The strength meter shows real entropy in bits, calculated from the keyspace your settings actually produce, alongside how long a brute-force attempt would take at 10 billion guesses a second. It measures the settings, not the shape of the text, so a short passphrase is called weak even though it looks complicated.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
Every password is generated locally with the system cryptographic random source. There is no account, no sign-up, no sync, no server, no analytics, and no ads. PassGenie cannot leak a password it never sends anywhere.
BUILT SO A COPIED PASSWORD DOES NOT LINGER
The clipboard clears itself after a delay you choose: 15 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute, a minute and a half, or off. A countdown on screen shows exactly how long you have left.
HISTORY IS OFF UNTIL YOU TURN IT ON
If you want a record, turn on history and the last 20 passwords are kept on this device only. Label them, search them, delete them one by one or all at once. Lock the whole list behind your fingerprint or screen lock. If you never turn it on, nothing is ever stored.
GOOD FOR
- Setting up a new account on a laptop that is not yours
- A throwaway password for a form that does not deserve your real one
- Wi-Fi passwords, dev keys, API tokens, and other high-entropy strings
- Anyone who does not want to commit to a password manager for a one-off need
PassGenie is free, with no in-app purchases and no ads.
Recent changes:
- Now in 10 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Bengali, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay and Filipino
- Clipboard auto-clear now runs when you return to the app, not just while it is open
- Dragging the length slider no longer floods your history
- Fonts ship inside the app, so nothing is fetched on first launch
- The daily streak badge is gone
