Pastbeep : History by Push

Pastbeep turns your phone into a time machine.

You pick a moment in history — and live through it as if it were happening right now. Notifications land exactly when the original event took place. To the minute. Sometimes during your lunch break, sometimes at half past two in the morning. The when is part of the story.

More gripping than any history book could ever be.

REAL TIME Moon landing, Cuban Missile Crisis, the sinking of the Titanic: Pastbeep puts you in the room, minute by minute. No hindsight, no summary — you know exactly as much as the people back then, at the very moment they knew it.

DEPTH, WITH SOURCES Every event has a deeper layer. Tap a notification and you'll find the background: maps, period photographs, original recordings, diary entries — with a source cited for every detail, so you can keep digging on your own.

TRUTH OVER DRAMA No punched-up infotainment. The content draws on tapes, wireless logs, ship's logs, inquiry reports and eyewitness accounts. Where the sources are thin, we say so — instead of dramatising the gaps.

A CATALOGUE THAT GROWS Technological leaps, political turning points, cultural awakenings, personal fates — from antiquity well into the 20th century. A different adventure for every mood.

STEP IN Some adventures can be walked. Pastbeep tracks your phone's step count and shows where you'd be right now if you were running from Marathon to Athens 2,500 years ago — with a map, stage notes, and everything you'd have met along the way.
