Permis 101: SAAQ Test Prep

Fail one section of the knowledge test and you wait 28 days to retake it. Permis 101 gets you ready — section by section.

Permis 101 is an independent app, not affiliated with the SAAQ or the Government of Québec. The exam rules quoted here come from the SAAQ's official documents (links below).

The official format, exactly
28 questions in 3 sections — 8 Road rules, 8 Road signs, 12 Driving behaviours — and each section is passed separately, at 75%. Your mock tests reproduce that format exactly, thresholds included.

Everything you need (car, Class 5)
• Close to 600 original questions, verified against the official SAAQ guides listed under "Official sources"
• 128 road signs, redrawn and explained
• The right-of-way trainer: 27 interactive intersection scenarios
• Three readiness rings that measure how much of the bank you have actually mastered
• Smart review of your mistakes, with statistics by topic
• Works offline once the question bank is downloaded

In English and in French
Switch language whenever you like, in Settings. Each module covers both — the whole question bank is written in each language, not machine-translated.

Motorcycle (Class 6): a module sold separately
Taking the motorcycle knowledge test (6R licence)? The motorcycle module is a separate in-app purchase, at the same price as the car module: about 200 original motorcycle questions, each one explained, and a motorcycle mock test in the exact format — 32 questions, 27 out of 32 to pass, if you already hold a Class 5 driver's licence or probationary licence. No Class 5 licence yet? Preparation for the full test — the Highway Safety Code, road signs and motorcycle riding — is included.

One purchase per module, for good
Try the free demo, then unlock the module for your test — car (Class 5) or motorcycle (Class 6). Each module is a single purchase, for good; one doesn't unlock the other.

Important: the SAAQ restricts access to its websites by country. The official links below open from Canada and the United States; from most other countries they lead to an SAAQ error page, not a broken link.
The questions are written and verified against these official guides:

The test format (28 questions, 3 sections, 75% per section; for the motorcycle, 32 questions passed at 27 out of 32, plus road rules and road signs without a Class 5 driver's or probationary licence) and the 28-day wait before a retake come from the SAAQ's official policy on competency tests (published in French):
