One of the few android shmups I can recommend. Some improvements would be nice: when previewing a ship it should be maxed. Campaign is so short, I wasn't expecting that, need to be like 10x longer at least. It was quite engaging for a mobile game. The gameplay is solid, would like to see more enemy variety, also fighting larger enemies, like the hull can be the stage, and you fly above and have to destroy turrets, or planet side missions. Anyway, great game overall.

I played phoenix HD back when I had an iPod in 2009 or so, and have been hunting for that game since I moved over to android, I'm so glad that this game gives me the same feeling I got back when I played the original, great game

Struggling to give this game a fair review, I think the core gameplay, level and enemy design are awesome, but the end content relies too much on difficulty and feels a bit restrictive: 3 daily missions of which one is soon locked to a very small and changing selection of ships, a VIP mission (p2p), and a community mission. I think you need more missions, or at least a separate category for the missions that require specific ships. Don't mind monetization but the funnel feels a bit too tight.

The addition of Nova Cores (real money only) and Mods that used to be part of upgrade process has pushed this game too far into pay to win territory. It was a long process to upgrade and purchase ships before, but there was a path for F2P players. Nothing worth my time anymore. Shame, as it is/was quite good as a bullet he'll game. I'd pay a one time fee for a game this polished, but the Nova cores being realoney only, and the VIP subscription have ruined it for me.

Veteran of this game for 8 years, the newest update makes it a p2w. After spending nearly $200 over the last 8 year to support the game and streamline my progress, this last update basically spits in the face of everyone that's played this game for more than a year. They're not answering discord or reddit posts on our concerns. I get monetization, but this is just insane that they would do this to their loyal fan base after years. This was one of the best f2p games and now turned into a p2w.

The latest update is unfair to new players. It is impossible to get the previous max level upgrade (e.g. Vorpal wake) which used to be easily obtained. Please fix if you wish to retain your player base. Will update if there are any improvements.
