We love Pinwheel! My kid gets to text, call, and use apps, but I am not just handing over the whole internet. The curated app store and simple layout make it feel really safe and kid friendly. He gets some independence, and I don't have to stress. The Caregiver App is what makes it all work for me. From my phone I can pick which apps he can use, set limits and quiet times, see who he is talking to, and lock or pause the phone when I need to. It is very straightforward and easy!

The Pinwheel Watch was a great starter for the kids. I was able to text and call them, as well see where they were and keep and eye on all their contacts. I love that they can not access social media at all. Felt so much safer. Only problem was occasional glitches that meant restarting the watches.

Get it together, Pinwheel. My kid NEEDS apps from Google Play for school, and we can't get the app to work on his phone and can't get the apps he needs. Location is terrible. I just watched him travel to school, and then reopened the PW app 3 minutes later, and it couldn't update his location from the original bus stop. I didn't pay $750 up front for a brick! Fix it, or we're going to Bark or Gabb.

Pinwheel is garbage, and a waste of money because if your child grows out of it you can't just put in some code or use the app to turn it into a regular phone you have to resell it to pinwheel for way less. Also, the messaging app doesn't work well, and you can't get Google messages or imessages. Also even though the parents control what apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store it still blocks apps from being installed by the parent. Also requires a $12/month when Google family link is free
