PitchRef: Concert Pitch Table

PitchRef is a concert pitch reference for musicians who need the number, not a needle. It shows the frequency of every note in equal temperament, at whichever A4 standard you are working in, and it does it without a connection.

Pick a reference pitch, pick an octave, and the table fills in: all twelve notes, each one in hertz to two decimal places. Change the reference and the whole grid moves with it.

PitchRef is a pitch reference table, not a listening tuner. It does not use the microphone. It gives you the number your instrument should be tuned to.

HOW IT WORKS
Every row comes from a single formula: f = A4 * 2^((n-69)/12), where n is the MIDI note number and A4 is the reference you selected. C0 is MIDI 12 and C8 is MIDI 108, which covers the range acoustic instruments actually live in. Nothing is rounded to a whole hertz, so a value like 415 Hz baroque pitch resolves down to 15.42 Hz at C0 and up to 7453.15 Hz at B8.

QUESTIONS

Does it listen to my instrument?
No. There is no microphone use and no audio at all. PitchRef is a pitch reference chart. It tells you what frequency to aim for, then you tune to it with your ear, your tuning fork or your own hardware tuner.

Why would I change the concert pitch?
Modern ensembles sit at 440 Hz, many European orchestras tune to 442 Hz, and early music groups play at 415 Hz or 466 Hz. Some players prefer 432 Hz. One tap moves the entire note frequency table to that standard.

Which notes are included?
All twelve chromatic notes, named with sharps, across nine octaves. That is 108 note frequency values per reference standard.

Does it need an internet connection?
No. The app makes no network requests. It works on a plane, in a basement studio or in a church loft.

PitchRef collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no tracking and no advertising. Everything stays on your device.
