Love using this app to help track my dogs' activity, food and weight. Now using the GPS device with it to give us the add security that if my dog ever ran away we'd be able to find him much faster.

Separating device from app, and concentrating on just the app: it's very slow. Navigating away from it, when on a walk, and then navigating back seems to require it to reload, so takes an age to refresh the map that was shown just a few seconds earlier. The gamifying of walks is a bit of a hoot for the first few badges, but now my girl's run "from London to Brighton" I'm not so bothered, so would be good to switch that off. Now the device: a real relief. I've ordered a second, for my other dog.

We absolutely love the Pitapat dog GPS tracker! It’s fun to be able to track our dog Nina’s activity each day. It has also given us peace of mind knowing that we can always check Nina’s location if she does go missing. Set up was easy. The app is user-friendly and easy to navigate. A wireless charger is included, and the device battery seems to last for weeks on a single charge.

As long as you understand the limitations, it works as expected. It's not instantaneous and dependent on cell coverage, but does give a good idea of the general area of your dog. You can set it to phone home more often. This reduces the wait time at the cost of battery life. In our case, we get enough coverage around where we are, and once the device gets the signal to start live tracking it gives an accurate enough location. We've used this to find our puppy after she got out of our yard.

If you walk your dog in the countryside and want to make sure you dog is safe by tracking them AVOID this product. It's literally pointless. Was walking IN and close to a village, not even that rural with 5G phone signal and wouldn't connect or track. DO NOT BUY THIS TRACKER. AVOID. No reliable and slow.

Whilst the device itself is just about OK, (it really needs a user activated light and or sound signal), the location accuracy is not good enough. The app often takes forever to load and when it does, it start on the summary screen. For a location app why can't I set it to open on the 'location' screen? The 'find my dog' option takes longer to work than his actual walk sometimes. Once the Pitapat came off in dense undergrowth (or so we thought) and we spent 6 hours searching for it, GPS poor.
