Where's the benefit? When I need to access the apps section of the Play Store, it's because I'm looking for a new app to download, not to update existing apps. This app takes 3 steps to get to the search dialog, same number of steps involved with using the Play Store app, and it takes same amount of time. Only possible use for this shortcut might be if Play Store app is giving you trouble. What I want is direct access to the apps search dialog screen.
