Why does asterisks for Italics do not work? It just appears as regular texts which is confusing. Would have been better if I could see the asterisks as is instead of it disappearing. also, please add AI response editing if possible. Other than these, this app is pretty impressive.

Excellent update speed to new versions of llama.cpp, Gemma 4 already works after less than 48hrs of release. Very responsive developer, and runs small LLMs quite quickly on phones/tablets in comparison to many other frontends. 5/5. Gemma 4 a4 26B (iq2 quant) actually just fits into a 12gig ram phone! Bad quant, but good model, even if it's just a bunch of 4B models in a trench coat. This boggles my mind. Smaller 3-8B models of all types run at ok'Ish speed too. Q4_0 models for ARM do speed up.

Does not support MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra nor the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU and not even mention Mediatek Autopilot architecture. LLMs run extremely slow, even the smallest. 1 minute or more for a "Hello" prompt!!! I really hope the developers incorporate these new chipsets.

Pocket Pal AI is hands-down the worst chatbot I’ve ever used. It’s painfully slow, constantly misunderstands basic questions, and gives generic, useless answers that feel copied. The “personality” is cringy and robotic – it tries way too hard to be friendly but ends up sounding fake and annoying. Half the time it repeats itself or goes completely off-topic. Even simple conversations turn into frustrating loops. On top of that, it feels invasive with how it pushes point.
