After the Google Podcast app (underrated and underused) ceased to function, I had to find a new app. I rejected apps with bad reviews, or that required a subscription. For a little while I used Player FM, but I couldn't stand its limitations and flaws. Luckily I found Podcast Guru. It works, and it doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I do have an issue with episodes occasionally buffering, but I think that may be an issue with my phone, as I have the same problem with YouTube.

I listen to a lot of Podcasts and after Google's app moved to YT I was looking for a new option. I tried a BUNCH and this one was by far the best. Best interface, best options. Love it all. The only note I would add is the ability to search episodes within a subscription.

Stopped working properly lately. Podcasts don't refresh, new episodes are not fetched even after hitting the refresh button, only to appear adl day or two later. Attempting to sort the episodes hangs the app. Quite bad.

I had to knock my review down from 5 stars to 1 star, I'm sorry! It started loading slower (latest episodes, library, playlists, etc.) and over several weeks became even slower. It can sometimes take 15–20 minutes to load a page. No other app has this problem, my connection is fine. Yesterday podcasts began stopping every 5 - 10 minutes. I have to keep re-hitting play. That's inconvenient if I'm listening while doing something else. It used to be the perfect app. What happened???

App loses all listen history & user data if sub lapses...was not aware of this ahead of time nor made aware that sub was going to end & not renew. Unfortunately lost all podcast data due to this, confirmed with Support there's nothing they could do and this is by design. Piecing together where I was in several+ podcasts is a tremendous amount of work, won't be doing it under a service that unknowingly loses your data history without warning. Other than that showstopper issue, app was great.

It's okay 😐, I like most of the app ... except it never rarely puts new podcasts on the app if I look online it shows me all podcasts for a certain author for example but when I got onto the podcast app it does not put any new ones on there, so it gets boring quite quickly listening to the same podcasts over and over 😐. Be nice if they added more podcasts definitely won't be upgrading now I was thinking of it.
