Prism Ascent

An orb. A tower of spinning gates. One thumb.

Prism Ascent is a vertical arcade game about reading a rotating pattern and
choosing your moment. Each gate is ringed with four colours, and your orb can
only slip through the band that matches it. Touch anything else and the climb
is over.

Nothing is chasing you. Hang underneath a gate as long as you need, watch the
ring come round, and go when the gap lines up. Every gate behind you is a
point, and the only pressure in the game is the pressure you put on yourself.

CONTROLS
- Tap to rise. Tap again before gravity wins.
- Hold position under a gate by tapping in rhythm - that is the whole hover.
- Collect a spinner to change colour. It wears the colour it will give you, so
you can plan the gate above before you ever reach it.
- Clear gates one after another to build a streak.
- Drop off the bottom of the screen and the run ends.

SEVEN GATES
Plain rings, twin-track rings, split rings with open gaps, a bar swinging on a
pivot, sliding bar pairs, iris rings that breathe open and shut, and eight-sided
prisms turning on their axis. The mix thickens and quickens as you climb.

FAIR BY MEASUREMENT, NOT BY PROMISE
The gates are generated rather than hand-placed, which means nobody can simply
play through them all and call them fair. So they were checked by machine
instead: thirty thousand gates, each one tested from all four colours, using an
orb deliberately larger than the one you play with. A hundred and twenty
thousand checks, zero failures. There is always a way through. If a run ended,
something you did ended it.

EASY ON THE EYES
No neon, no bloom, no strobing, nothing that flashes. Flat colour on a soft
slate field. The gates sit at irregular distances on purpose, so the screen
never falls into a repeating rhythm as you climb. Screen brightness was
measured frame by frame over long sessions and stays essentially flat.

Calm mode slows every moving part and softens the bounce.

IT PLAYS WITHOUT COLOUR VISION
Each colour carries a shape of its own - a dot, a square, a diamond, a triangle
- marked on every band of every gate and on the orb itself. You can match by
shape alone. The four are also spaced apart in brightness, so they stay
separable in greyscale. High Contrast mode makes the shapes larger and bolder.

NO STRINGS
- Entirely offline. The app requests no permissions whatsoever, not even
internet access.
