Professional Marimba Xylophone

Play a real concert marimba on your phone or tablet. Professional Marimba puts 61 rosewood bars, five full octaves, under your fingers, with every note recorded from a real concert marimba.

For percussion students, music teachers and anyone who loves the warm sound of mallet percussion: play, learn scales, practice with a metronome and play along with songs.

A REAL CONCERT MARIMBA
• 5 octaves, 61 bars from C2 to C7, drawn like the real instrument: graded rosewood bars, the raised accidental row and brass resonators
• Where you strike a bar sets the tone: full in the middle, softer near the ends
• Hold a bar to roll it with real recorded marimba rolls, slide for a glissando, play chords with several fingers (multi-touch)
• Four-mallet chord buttons (I IV V vi ii iii) that follow your key
• One or two ranks of bars, left-handed layout, note names (C D E or Do Re Mi), adjustable strike sensitivity and roll speed
• Concert hall, room, studio or cathedral reverb

16 MALLET PERCUSSION SOUNDS
Every note of a concert marimba recorded (University of Iowa recordings), played by the FluidSynth engine with low latency: marimba with yarn, cord or rubber mallets, dead strokes, and a second marimba recorded in a room. Plus vibraphone (soft and hard mallets, motor on), xylophone (two mallet types), glockenspiel, tubular bells, celesta, kalimba, balafon and steel pan. A sustain pedal for vibraphone and bells.

SCALE LENS
Light up 15 scales on the bars in all 12 keys: major, natural, harmonic and melodic minor, pentatonics, blues, the modes, whole tone, Hijaz and chromatic.

59 SONGS
Listen and watch the bars light up as each song plays with its band, or play along: the next bar glows and waits for you, and you earn stars for accuracy. Classical pieces such as Für Elise, Bach's Prelude in C, Rondo alla Turca, The Entertainer, Swan Lake, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Gymnopédie, Ode to Joy and Canon, plus folk and world songs (Sakura, Korobeiniki, Katibim, La Cucaracha), holiday songs, lullabies and children's songs. All in the public domain.

LEARN THE MARIMBA
37 lessons in every key, with the sticking shown: the basics, 15 scales, arpeggios (major, minor, sevenths, diminished), technique (thirds, double vertical strokes, octaves, single alternating and ripple strokes), rolls and four-mallet chord progressions.

PRACTICE
• Metronome from 30 to 240 BPM, 2 to 7 beats, subdivisions and tap tempo
• A band in 10 styles that follows your key: waltz, jig, reel, baroque, bossa nova, classical, ballad, calypso, march and rainy day

RECORD AND SHARE
Record your playing, play it back, rename your takes and share them as MIDI files.
