Description
Proxi is a service that monitors the proximity sensor. When the screen is on and the sensor detects proximity, an (optional) sound notifies the start of an (adjustable) delay. If the proximity still exists after this delay, the selected app is launched. Any non-system app can be chosen.
Proxi comes with an onboard copy of the app 'Off without lock', which turns off the screen. See its Play Store description for further details.
NOTE: due to Google's ever more restrictive policies, under Android Q an app can no longer launch another activity. Therefore, when running Android Q+, Proxi can only execute a limited version of 'Off (internal)'. You may, however, download a legacy version from the app list on the 'Privacy Policy' page.
If enabled, Proxi will turn on the screen on loss of proximity (this option may increase standby battery consumption).

I'm curious why this app has such a low rating but it works exactly as advertised, I use this while I'm studying and the phone is not in my hands. Shame on playstore which does not show this app in search results, I've found this one by filtering apps in aurora (for those who don't know, head to f-droid) and I'm very happy to have found it.
