Quill puts a small floating button on your screen. Focus a text field, tap the button and speak. Tap again to send your recording to your chosen AI service. Your words appear where your cursor is. Review them before you send.

DICTATE WITHOUT SWITCHING APPS
Write messages, emails and notes with your voice. Quill’s floating button stays available while you write, so you can keep your keyboard and stay in the app you are using.

CHOOSE YOUR AI SERVICE
Connect your own Groq, OpenRouter or Gemini API key. Your audio goes directly to the service you choose, using your account. Quill stores your key encrypted on your device.

NO QUILL FEES OR ADS
Quill does not charge you. There are no ads or paid upgrades, and you do not need a Quill account. Any AI service charges are billed by that service.

Quill has no server that receives your audio, transcripts or API keys. Quill doesn’t even track your usage. The app has no analytics or telemetry. Your chosen AI service’s retention and training rules apply.

HISTORY STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
History is on by default and keeps transcripts for one hour. Change the retention period, or use private mode to stop saving history.

OPTIONAL TEXT CLEANUP
Enable “Tidy my dictation” to send your transcript to Groq with your Groq key. Cleanup sends text, never audio.

ACCESSIBILITY ACCESS
Quill uses Android’s Accessibility Service to find the active text field and insert your dictation. It reads the field’s existing text and cursor position to preserve surrounding text and confirm insertion. Existing field text is processed on your device, not sent to your AI service or saved as dictation history. Fields identified as password fields are excluded. Quill explains this access and asks for your agreement before opening Android Settings.

Quill’s source license permits inspection, independent test builds, limited test instrumentation and reproducible-build comparisons. Quill is proprietary software; the source license sets the limits on modification and redistribution.
