I really enjoy Qwant the search engine, and I actually like how serious they are about security and privacy. But the slide security check is all light themed, and it hurts my eyes when Qwant itself is dark themed. This security check also happens most of the time I use this browser app, which can be not great if I need to look something up in an emergency. And I also notice when I use my phone's back button on web pages, sometimes it backs me out of the app. Not a huge deal.

You say we are in control, and we are safe from trackers and all that. But if we own all our control and privacy? What's with all the permissions? Surely if all what you say and claim about our privacy? What's the need for all the permissions? I know we can turn off permission, but that don't answer the question, Why all those permissions in first place?

For the privacy and hoping there would be more source returns different from the typical top ad bids from the Narrative that is forced by "you know who". But in the efforts to run searches, the results would only return a broad generalized list & not direct. E.g., I ran a basic apartment property reviews search and got basic info. I know Google returns a ton on this particular property but all Qwant would produce was the properties rental pages & listings. The privacy claim lost cred w/ $MS/BG
