Team Generator is a simple app for splitting a group into teams.
Enter the names, choose how many teams you need, and you get the result. Either random, or so that the teams are roughly equal in strength.
What the app can do: - Split people into random teams - Balance teams by skill if you give everyone a level. The app shows how even the result is. - Decide who must play together or apart - Optionally draw a team lead for each team - Turn the teams into a tournament: knockout, groups + knockout or round robin, with byes, a third-place match and home-and-away legs - Save lists, for example your Monday football group or a school class - See earlier teams in the history, share or copy teams - Change team names and colours - Dark mode, 7 languages
If you only need quick teams, you can hide the extra options.

Hi, I don't want to leave a bad review because I was really enjoying the app. But on the most recent update I am no longer able to balance teams, hide skill levels or assign team leaders. It's all just greyed out :(but other than that great app and super helpful! I just hope this gets fixed :)

Works well and the lists feature is great. I use it for our indoor bowls roll ups where being able to recall different "starter sets" of names is great as different people tend to play on different days. My only complaint is the team number slider is really fiddly to get the required size. + And - buttons would be far easier. An option to specify number of people per team would be handy too, rather than number of teams. Due to above I tend to go for 1 team then split the random list on to paper

While the app does generate random teams, it is very user unfriendly. Names of players are not saved automatically so if you switch apps for any reason (like to ask someone if they want to be included) you'll have to start over. There is no way to save teams, and it is overall an unpleasant experience to use.
