Want to refresh your memory on named chemical reactions before an exam or a group meeting? The free ReactionFlash(R) app is a great way to learn Named Reactions, understand their mechanisms and view examples published in peer-reviewed literature or patents.
Designed and developed in consultation with Professor Dr. Erick M. Carreira of ETH Zürich, the app now covers over 1'266 named chemistry reactions. Professor Carreira has helped ensure that we have all the fundamental reactions that should be part of every chemist’s toolkit: from the best-known ones to the ones only Nobel Prize winners remember!
The app is designed like a set of flash cards so it can be used as a learning tool as well as a reference. Each ‘card’ shows the reaction, its mechanism and examples from peer-reviewed, published literature. It also has a quiz mode that lets you test your knowledge.
Linking into Reaxys enables you to find the most recent examples of each reaction, many with experimental details. Excellently built. One of the best app for Name Reaction in Organic chemistry. I like this app. It's working fine. But it is not possible to return to home page. Some modifications are required. The icon can be changed.

This app has nice features, however as mentioned in other reviews the orientation is unstable rendering it unusable. It swaps between landscape and portrait mode and when turned to accommodate the new screen orientation it interferes with what the app is doing e.g. In quiz mode it switches to landscape if you rotate phone it pauses the quiz and returns to portrait orientation. It is severe enough that I cannot use the app, this can't be corrected by disabling landscape reactions in the settings.
