Description
The Fair Work Ombudsman's Record My Hours app makes it easy for workers to record their hours of work and pass on information about their job.
The app allows users to: • automatically record their time at work • manually input shifts or fine-tune shift details if they need to, for example, if they don’t leave their workplace during their lunch break • export timesheets (and employment information) to store safely or share with a preferred representative if they have a workplace issue
The app also includes a range of helpful features: • view, store and export shift history • back up information to personal cloud storage and easily restore it on a new device or after a factory reset • keep a record of work hours for multiple jobs and workplaces, all in one place • take and add photos of employment information that belongs to an employee, like their own payslips
Privacy and Security Only you have access to your information recorded by the app. No one can access your information unless you choose to share it. Privacy and confidentiality rules apply in the workplace. Don't take photos of other people or business information.
Important information for users
* Users with an app version installed prior to May 2024 must export all their app data if they wish to keep it before upgrading to the latest version, as their data will not migrate across to the new version of the app.
* Before the update, make sure to save your work record outside the app so you’ve got a backup you can refer to later.
* Wi-Fi must be turned on in device settings for automatic shift recording to work.
* Android users should turn off Battery Optimisation in their devices settings for this app. If Battery Optimisation is turned on for this app it may prevent automatic shift recording from working.
* Automatic shift recording won't work for all job types, such as people working in areas with no mobile or Wi-Fi coverage or people who frequently travel for work. It also won’t t work reliably in some circumstances, including when certain device settings are not enabled by the user. Manual recording has been incorporated to cater for this.

This is fantastic. Well laid out user interface and works really well. One minor bug I have found: when viewing the work record, setting the period to last pay period, and setting a period of two weeks results in a 15-day period displayed instead of a 14-day period.

Love the design and feel of the app, the UI is well-thought-out. Big points for material design too. Adding a new workplace doesn't work properly. Had an issue where I tried to fill out the form to register a new job/workplace. The "DONE" button on the top right remained disabled, and I couldn't save my info. Some fields could not be filled in either (tapping them did not bring up a text entry prompt). I had to exit the form then start all over again. After that initial registration issue it seems to be working ok. Lastly, I'd suggest offering backup to google drive too instead of just Dropbox. I'm using a Pixel phone.

I use this all the time tracking my hours at work. I don't use the Wi-Fi feature, just tap on and off. Very useful in an industry where the hours often don't match the planned roster. What bothers me a lot is how clumsy it is to view your work record... 1) When you go to your work record, the app will list you your past shifts but won't show you the total hours per day if you've made several in a day. 2) You can only view past week / day / month / year / overall hours as a bar chart. (Or custom it.) Why not all at once on the same page? Or let me easily swipe to alter between them. 3) The bar chart won't show the exact numeric value under each bar, so you're not sure if that bar means 17 or 18. 4) You can custom the bar chart, but it doesn't work right, it adds an extra day. 5) It took me a while to even find out that you can custom it! Also, the app loads very slowly. Obs that you can take a picture of your payslips and roster etc. Very handy.

This app loses ALL data, incl workplace location, when it does an update - without any prior notification - is extremely frustrating. I have to use a manual system to track my hours as the claimed backup options don't seem to work and are not automatic. A simple notification so user can back up data would make a big difference. These issues make it unreliable and FW should do better for ppl who rely on it.

Horrible UI. Easier to record on your calendar than using this app which adds zero value compared to using your calendar. Manual adding shift is difficult and not user-friendly at all, total hours worked per week is not shown, instead, it showed total hours worked all the weeks add together, no point with this information. Developers should use the app to go their office work to understand how frustrating this app is.

The information says just keep Wi-Fi on. But without leaving the building it is constantly ending the shifts after a short time, so they always have to be manually adjusted. Useless app. I don't want to have to use location services as it drains the battery and chews through the data.
