Tried on a Redmi Note 13 Pro and a Galaxy S5, both supposedly don't have an IR blaster, but they do, the app said they both didn't and therefor didn't do anything

Despite Google Play Store's insistence that this app is compatible with my device, IT IS NOT ! Maybe it's just me, but when an 'authority' deems something to be compatible, I take it to mean "it will perform correctly" or actually "work". Apparently, Google has some other, undefined meaning for "compatible". Add this to the list of Reasons To Hate Google. Yet another item to add: If you include the word "free" in an App Store search query, "free" will be ignored.
