REQUIREMENTS & USAGE Using IR: * Receivers can be controlled using IR on select Samsung, HTC and LG devices that have built-in IR blasters (Mini-Guide requires networked receivers)
Using WiFi/Network: * This app uses WiFi to control your receivers!
* Automatic discovery of your receivers with ability to add manually.
* Receivers must be networked (wired or wirelessly) and configured for EXTERNAL DEVICE ACCESS and given a UNIQUE NAME (this is not the default setting on the receivers)!
* Supported models (HD only): H21, H22, H23, H24, HR20, HR21, HR22, HR23 and HR24. Also supports HR34 /HR44 Genie and C31/C41 clients.
* For advanced users: One receiver can be controlled over 3G, etc. See Website FAQs for details.

Running custom ROM with Android Pie and the app works flawlessly just like all previous Android versions. This is the most awesome DirecTV related app I have tried and possibly the best app I have ever used. Save yourself some trouble and buy the PRO version right away. Fully compatible with all genie receiver and genie mini clients ON BOTH Wi-Fi AND 3G/4G. The documentation says that you can only control one unit via 3g/4g, but you can actually control all clients including minis. The developer responded immediately to a question I submitted. This is an ATF!.

I bought this app for volume control, but it does not work. I paid for

Used to work great, but it's now zoomed in to the screen so that only part of the remote is visible. Not only does that mean you can't see many of the buttons, but you can't get to settings or change set-top boxes. Tried reinstalling and didn't help. Likely just uninstalling and moving on.
