Description

RemoteMarkdown is a Markdown editor for Android that lets you open and edit Markdown files directly on your NAS, home server, or remote server.
Connect to an existing folder with SMB, SFTP, WebDAV, FTP, or FTPS and keep using the same plain-text files and folder structure—no import or proprietary document format required.

Direct remote editing
• Connect to SMB 2/3 network shares
• Use SFTP with password or SSH private key authentication
• Connect through WebDAV over HTTP or HTTPS
• Access FTP or FTPS servers
• Open local folders as workspaces
• Register and switch between multiple workspaces

Markdown editor
• Edit Markdown with preview, source, and reading modes
• Use headings, lists, task lists, tables, blockquotes, code blocks, links, and images
• Open relative images and wiki-style links such as [[Note]]
• Insert images into your workspace and add Markdown links automatically
• Save manually or use automatic saving

Find and organize notes
• Browse folders and files in a workspace tree
• Create, rename, move, and delete files and folders
• Search text across the entire workspace
• Find and replace text inside a document
• Quickly open files by name
• Use configurable hardware-keyboard shortcuts on phones and tablets

Safer remote writing
• Detect server-side changes before saving when supported
• Preserve both versions by creating a conflict copy instead of silently overwriting changes
• Keep a local recovery copy when a save fails
• Store server passwords, SSH keys, and passphrases in secure storage on the device

RemoteMarkdown works with servers and accounts provided by you. It does not provide a cloud storage account or host your Markdown documents. A network connection is required when working with a remote server. For remote access, encrypted connections such as SFTP, HTTPS WebDAV, and FTPS are recommended.

The free version includes banner and occasional interstitial ads. A one-time in-app purchase is available to remove ads.
